The Alocasia originally found in Malaysia and Borneo. its is from aroid family Araceae and is related to many other common houseplants
Prefers bright and warm location but no direct sunlight as it will scorch leaves. Do not allow the soil to dry out. This plant does best in higher humidity.
Interestingly Alocasia goes into dormancy where leaves will die but after rest period will spring back to life. During this time less watering is required as plant is in a restful mode and its roots are not uptaking water as much.
