Araucaria are evergreen trees from the Southern Hemisphere. Originally only grew on the Norfolk Island (Australia) but nowadays it is grown worldwide. It is an elegant, conical, coniferous tree with distinctive whirled branches of juvenile, fan-like foliage. Young plants are often used as houseplants, especially popular in the winter months as a modern replacement for the Christmas tree. Unlike the Christmas tree, this pine likes to be indoors and stays green all year round. With proper care you can enjoy this for years.
