Tropical plant, hoya also known as 'Wax Flower' for its porcelain looking flowers. Foliage can be showy too. Its a genus with hundreds of species each with different flowers and foliage. Some species flowers are heavily scented and may produce excess nectar that drips from the flowers. Plant that is collectable in different varieties and one of the easiest to care for.
Light: bright spot, no direct sunlight, will tolerate shady spot too. The best place for your hoya is in a south- or west-facing room.
Soil: well draining potting compost, choose a 14cm pot cover to give a good fit over the pot.
Watering: as and when required, allow to dry up a bit in between. Pour enough water until it drains out the bottom of the pot
Fertilizer: in the growing season (spring and summer) fertilize every 2 or 3 weeks with an organic fertilizer
Humidity: hoyas need high humidity levels to thrive indoors - spray a fine mist on the leaves every day
