The Aspidistra elatior is also know as Cast Iron plant belongs to the lily family. As it’s name suggests strength it is an ultimate beginner plant that will tolerate any neglect from under watering to over watering, cold or shade. 

Cast iron plant was very popular during Victorian times coping well with low light and cold draughty homes of that era. It’s well suited to low light areas so will add greenery to that dark corner of the room. 

The large broad shaped dark green leaves form of the roots rhizome. Naturally slow growing  it can stay in same pot for many years.
