There are some 70 different species of snake plants. They come in various shapes and shades of green with additional colour patterns to their leaves.

Snake plants are famous for their air purifying quality. Sansevieria has ability to produce oxygen with one of the highest rates in converting carbon dioxide into oxygen.

Recently Sansevieria been reclassified into Dracaena family. The genus Sansevieria was originally named in honor of a person, while science has now identified sansevierias as agenus of Dracaena.
